What happened to the butt plate and where is the replacement coming from?

I'm not positive. I'm guessing it had gotten cracked at some point in time. I think the replacement is coming from an eBay seller but not 100% sure. It should be here this week. Possibly Thursday.

The replacement butt plates that I've purchased & fitted to my rifles look as good or better than the originals, if done correctly. I've fitted three that I purchased from the same seller on ebay. It's about a 30 minute job with a dremel & a polishing compound for the edges once fitted correctly. I can post pics if anyone is interested in how they turn out.

I think this one is supposed to be an original. So I guess we'll see how well it fits.

Butt pad showed up. Fits pretty well but will need a little grinding. Will post pictures when he gets it finished up.

Some of the 20 inch 57 marlins were marked 39a with blued triggers, as I have one. They must have changed to Mounties during the year.
