I crossed the commiefornia state line eastbound back to Tennessee in 1980. Last thing I did on the west side of the line was pizz out a 6 pack! Haven't gone back since then, and never intend to!

I never thought they would get away with charging athletes from teams out of state, How these crazy rules are not overturned by the SCOTUS in the real question. Everyone knows the state of CA is a blood sucking leech, but how can an athlete who plays for the Texas Rangers, have to pay CA state tax on the games he played in CA, when his employer is the Texas Rangers based in Texas? I have a feeling their thinking is the same as if an A/C repair place in TX sent a dude to Cali to fix a unit. The work was performed in Cali. His wages were earned there. Blah Blah Blah. Fuggers tried to tax my income when I worked 8 months a year in WA and vacationed in Cali in the winter where my wife worked. We managed to get through to the Franchise Tax Board that they were wrong and weren't getting anything from me. California’s Source Revenue taxation rules are pretty complicated especially for couples filing jointly. Yeah, seeing as how I was a Resident of WA, and a few other things we got to tell them to shove it.

Idaho taxes me 6% on money I spend in other states and makes those businesses in other states collect it for them and send it too them.
As a serf of the state they are entitled to 6 % of everything I spend anywhere and another nearly 8% of everything I make.

CA says that the games played in CA and wages paid on those days, are subject to CA state tax. Just think about those college athletes being paid lots of money and the surprise they have coming when they play in California.

and just like how the income tax of 1913 was only supposed to tax the rich ..sooner or later California will trickle this tax down to the common working class folk , and middle class .Making everyone pay for 10 years after they leave cammiefornia .socialist always it this way ,start at the top and work it down to the more numerous people.Because that way the govt gets way more money

Guess on my part, but I seriously doubt that will survive a court ruling. It doesn’t have to. They are masters at writing and flooding the court system with new legislation aimed at specific goals even though they know it won’t survive a court challenge. Kinda the same train of thought that the Palestinians use when they launch a barrage of missiles. If one or two survive and hit their mark, they consider it a win.

FWIW, they are also trying to pass legislation that your cost for utilities will be based on your income.
