The Marlin 336 chambered in 35 Remington, just kind of fell into my hands after a good friend was murdered a few years ago, and now is my go to rifle for deer. I am actually putting my 30-30 up for sale, because after using the 35 there is no need for the 30-30 anylonger. The 35 kind of became one of those rifles that can do no wrong. If a deer or hog get in its way, Its an almost automatic that we will have deer or hog on the grill shortly. It is one of the rifles that I have that instills an almost lofty arrogance about it. I point, aim, shoot then try to talk somebody else into field dressing. It's place is right next to my Browing 71, which says alot.
