Jus' asking.

I you want to go with that narrative, and blame the current or past generation, would they not be a product of previous generations?
The mouthy, disrespectful, lazy morons of today were raised by Boomer kids.
Agreed ?

I need to make sure I understand the question. Are you asking me mouthy, disrespectful, lazy Gen-Xers or Millennials were raised by Boomers? I don't want to conflate these very important labels.

Just to be clear, "mouthy, disrespectful, lazy morons" ARE NOT my labels. They've been used in this thread to describe the current generation and -1.
Yes they were raised by the Boomer kids.

Alot of posts deal with " my father and Grandfather raised hardworking, respectful, men of men".
If that's true and the reason that your generation has those values, and the current ones don't, where's the disconnect?

As posted before, I am ALOT closer to being a Boomer, than not !

P.S. Why are the sheep running scared from Jim ?

Maybe they've seen him naked before.

They would have to turn around.......

Folks down the road a bit take advantage of it here too. Unlike your schoolbus driver, I've given up on contacting them, bu phone or by stopping up at the house. They moved in a couple of years back and there doesn't seem to be any slowing down their sheep, goats, or cattle from getting in the road.

My neighbor down the road has goats, pigs, ducks, geese, chickens and turkeys that used to be in the road all the time. Seems to keep them contained better now after somebody ran over a bunch of his fowl one day and then all of his goats mysteriously diappeared never to be seen again.

Heard some stuff at a Rifle and Pistol Assoc meeting last night, way off topic as it had drifted some, that was kinda scary. Also found out that a private, religious based, school in the little town to the west of our county seat is full up with people trying to get their kids in.

Seems odd to blame the boomers for the state of schooling, as the last of the boomers wouldn't be having many kids after 2005 and we're 19 years past that now. (wink wink, nod nod...........don't blame me!)

My boomer, and Silent Gen teachers were much better than the teachers the kids have now.

Public school is a disgrace.

My old hired man totalled his pickup one night on a black cow owned by people that always had cows on the road.

Somehow....he got a tow home and it was never called in.

The next day the owners of the cow were interrogating the whole town to find who killed their cow.

They were gonna make the person pay.

They never did find out who it was....and they got enough pressure that they had to fix their fence.

It was just a matter of time before somebody ran over some of my neighbors stock. There's a dip in the road in front of his place that prevented seeing the critters in the road until you were right on top of them and people unfamiliar with the situation didn't have much reaction time to avoid it.

Would the withholding on a bonus depend on your tax bracket?

Sweet! I finally got to see Jim's guard dogs.

I've actually thought about PM'ing you about them, JC.

What breed and how many do you have? In another video that came up after your other one was over, I thought I counted 5?

Do they live with the sheep all of the time? Do they come home to eat and head back out to do their jobs again?

Those types of working dogs fascinate me, that is why I ask.

As a late boomer, in 1979 I got my first suspension for wearing a T-shirt where Mickey Mouse was flipping off Iran.

That was when I started to realize what was liberal and conservative.

First time I was called a racist was 1982 when I was senior. I was nominated for the top spot in the high school senior class popularity contest. So was a very popular black basketball player.
He had stolen my gym clothes when we were freshman, so I didn't vote for him. I was asked by the captain of the cheerleaders who I was voting for. Certainly would not vote for myself. I voted for a guy that was the real deal good person.

She called me a racist for not voting for the basketball guy.

Point is, schools have been pushing stupidity for 40 years.

Department of education needs to go.

8 at the moment.

The original ones were Great Pyrenees and the stud dog was Anatolian Sheppard.

We got a batch of pups and sold a few of them. They were 50 50 GP and AS.

Then....one of the pups got bred by her brother....and we got three more.

They are good dogs.

They are with the sheep 24/7. We keep a sheep proof dog feeder out in the pasture for them.

Sometimes some of them leave to chase something off...or they will come home to make a patrol.

One or two might stay if there are sheep and lambs at home.

They are pretty incredible animals and it has been fun learning about them.

Very cool. We don't have any working dogs around here anymore just house pets but they are good alarm dogs. A possum can't walk across the back yard at night without they let us know.
