Lots of Mediterranean type restaurants if you like that kind of food.
I do. A lot.
But, I've watched too many episodes of The First 48 and Houston is one place I'll try to avoid for the rest of my remaining years!

Goody’s BBQ used to be really good, too. Haven’t ate their in YEARS, though.

Isn't there a big gun store you guys used to talk about?
Carter Country ??? There’s another one called “collector’s firearms” or something like that. If you’re a fan of super high prices, you’ll love it. 🤪

I think most Americans have heard of the Alamo but how many know about the Battle of San Jacinto and the San Jacinto Monument? The Battle of San Jacinto is where Texas won the war for independence from Mexico.
"The San Jacinto Monument is a 567.31-foot-high column located on the Houston Ship Channel in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, about 16 miles due east of downtown Houston. The Art Deco monument is topped with a 220-ton star that commemorates the site of the Battle of San Jacinto, the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution. The monument, constructed between 1936 and 1939 and dedicated on April 21, 1939, is the world's tallest masonry column and is part of the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site. By comparison, the Washington Monument is 554.612 feet tall, which is the tallest stone monument in the world. The column is an octagonal shaft topped with a 34-foot Lone Star – the symbol of Texas. Visitors can take an elevator to the monument's observation deck for a view of Houston and the San Jacinto battlefield."
Might go surfing in the ship channel with the dolphins (the mammal type)

There is Carter's Country gun store. If you want the best experience go to the Treaschwig store. They have a shooting range there, so you can hear the boom & smell the powder burning...........

Be very careful in Houston in regards to vehicle smash and grabs, even in broad daylight. If you go into a store or restaurant, take any belonging/bags/backpacks etc. with you.
