Contrary to the opinions of some of the lesser informed morons who post here, I do not live by John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Jimmy Stewart and some other great Western actors and movies alone.😀
( I just love them more!)😎
I cut the cable, and I can honestly say that other than local news and weather, INSP Westerns and of course South Park, I don’t miss TV one bit.
I have most of my favorite westerns on DVD, but I have an eye for classics and a few of the better Epic movies too. Ben Hur, Spartacus, The Ten Commandments, quite a few others of the hundreds I have picked up over the years.
Sorta whizzed me off at my kids though. All these great films and movies wouldn’t interest them. They were watching robot wars and some freaking show called Is It Cake.🤬
Chuck Heston is well represented in these and most of his Sci Fi like Soylent Green, Omega Man, and Planet of the Apes.
I browse the bargain bins when I’m out, and I have been known to call B&N or hunt on Amazon for others that I don’t have… yet!😀
Just got done watching Spartacus again, and polished off Band Of Brothers over winter. Tour of Duty as well. Got a couple box sets about the ACW, weapons and tactics and such, along with a few sitcoms and Longmire, which Wifey wanted to see. She took a page out of my gift shopping book and bought it for me!😀
Any body else share this affliction?

Reon ! I was just going to start a thread like this. Just watched a western movie. Done know the title. It had Milburn Stone in it. It was about a solder that abandons his troops and joins the Indians and is later captured again by his troops . They take him into custody and they make it to the fort. The US troops take the prisoner to a place to stand trial and they go in 2 boats down the river to escape the Indians who are trying to kill them. In the movie the Indians capture Milburn and throw him off a cliff. I just tried to google it with no luck. The movie was ok but not over the top.

My Grandfather worked for 20th Century Fox. As a kid I hung out with him on the sets of MASH, Love Boat, and Charlies Angels. Still have memories of the time I was left alone with Charo the time she guest stared on Love Boat. Scared the crap out of me.

I've always been a movie buff and a fan of cinematography. I ditched DVDs a long time ago for Blu Rays and now almost all 4K. Proper TV as well.
I don't watch many TV shows but always watch several movies a week. Mostly movies I've seen 10+ times. Some I bet I've watched close to 100 times.
My go to comfort movies are Casablanca, North by Northwest, Jaws, African Queen, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, first two Indiana Jones movies. Really like the first two Alien movies as well.
If it's a classic from the 30s-80s, I probably own it.

I own well over a thousand movies and probably watch all of them at least once every 2-3 years. Some movies I like just for the cinematography aspect, like The Hateful Eight. A decent movie, but shot in Ultra panavision 70 through a 60 year old camera lens. I like some of the cool aspects directors introduced into movies that most people probably never notice.

Sci-fi from the 50-80s are great since they didn't have a computer for special effects. I love watching old movies and appreciate how much work went into the sets.

I had to stop and think about it a while back and while I thought I'd dropped Comcast about ten years ago and thinking it's beeb five years since my wife passed that it's closer to fifteen years that I dropped cable TV. My wife always liked movies so we started buying DVDs and recently figure out I have more than 1,100 movies. Every once in a while my youngest stepdaughter surprises me by sending me a movie. I just wish she'd tell me as it has caused several duplicates. About a week ago she sent me a movie that was a shocker and a half. It was a copy of the uncut Caligula. shocked She knows I like historical movies so thought I'd like this one. I called her and told her that she'd sent me a movie that was considered a porno flick when I came out and truth be told it has been cut a bit while they left the "good parts" in. She didn't know I had an original copy on tape and it seems some minor details were left out. I haven't had a tape player for years so no way to run it and compare.

I don't buy my DVDs from the store. I go to flea markets, swap meets, pawn shops and yard sales. The Hollywood liberals don't get my money. Someone else did.

Anyway, before she passed my wife and I would dinner and a movie every night. She suffered from dementia and those movies were a Godsend during the last year of her life.
