But how do you make the Rotor handle the .270 round? Does it have to be reshaped some?

The .270 sav. is a .300 sav, just necked down. In that case you would not have to change the rotor anyways, I would think??

All said, the Savage 99 is a genius of a rifle. Although no longer produced, it remains highly revered, as it was the foundation from which Arthur Savage built one of America's great gun companies. >> (Jon Y. Wolfe) <<

daveo i don't understand how a gun that is chambered for 300 not feed a 300 round that is necked down.Iknow it has been done in past with the knowledge of 270 sav being based on a 300 savage model 99 rifle. Is the 22-250 based on the 250 savage?

I just took it for granted that the 22-250 and 250-3000 were the same case only necked down. and spent a lot of money on a custom barrel having an EG made into an 22-250. Worked great as long as I shot it single shot. The [bleep] hit the fan when I loaded the rotor with five rounds and tried to cycle the lever. BANG!!! (I can't believe you guys won't let me swear on this grown up forum!)
