Late 1970's Ruger MK I with 6 -7/8" target barrel.
Early 1970's BearCat

One or the other will do anything I need a .22 to do.

A Ruger MK II stainless 5.5" bull barrel, MK II Target Slabsides, Rossi 4" stainless DA revolver, and a Taurus 4" stainless 9 shot DA revolver. Believe it or not the Rossi and Taurus revolvers are very accurate.

A pair of Ruger MK II stainless 5.5" bull barrel .22's. One is straight out of the box and a joy to shoot. The other wears an integral suppressor, bomar sights, match grade 2# trigger and it makes very little noise.

I've got a High Standard Sharpshooter which is a real sweetheart of a plinker. But the one that always seems to tag along is my old Beretta 70S. Digests everything I feed it without a burp and the machining is flawless. The action feels kinda like glass on glass.

I have had a S&W 617 stainless, 6" barrel, full lug, six shot for over ten years. Taught my wife how to shoot with it. It is a joy. This past Christmas I bought my wife a Ruger New Model Six 50th Anniversary with two cylinders, .22LR and .22 Magnum. she bought me the NRA Ruger MarkII semi auto. Handsome pistol and a great shooter. Those last two are more on the collector side than the shooter side. The MarkII was a lot of fun to shoot and accurate the New Model Six is handsome but a little light to be accurate. Have not tried the magnum cylinder yet. Maybe I will get a target Ruger or the Sig Trailside unless I splurge and get the S&W 41.

Standard Ruger Mk II (5.5"). Not fancy, but basically fault-free (unless you want to disassemble the thing, of course).

After fifty-few years with a raft of great .22 handguns (don't know whether I could list 'em all), I'm down to an irreducible two:

Ruger Mark II Government Model
Taurus Silhouette Model (12-inch barrel)

Wish I still had several of my old ones -- especially the pre-WW2 S&W K-22, S&W Kit Gun, S&W Model 41, High Standard HD-M, High Standard Field King, High Standard Victor. If any of these in good condition at a reasonable price shows-up when I have a pocketful of money, don't get caught between us!

Hi Ken,

I opted for the 6" Tracker in .22LR after the .17HMR didn't work out. They are shooters for sure.

I've had a slew of revolvers over the years. Mrs 41magfan gave me a MKII, wish I was good enough to hunt squirrels with it. I'll just have to keep practicing.

H&R 999 .22 LR. A very accurate firearm and old too.

S&W 38 Special, very old and put away. It belonged to my Grand Father. He rode horse back and was The Law Man.

Ruger Bisley/Vaquero SS 5.5" 45LC, simulated ivory handles with several modifications/improvements.

I also have a super old cap and ball 32 cal. I believe.
It's put away as well.
