My uncle is coming in for a visit and he called to let me know he had a Remington 700BDL w/BSA scope, hard case and i'm assuming leather sling. As far as specifics all I know is it is a 25-06,blued and wood stock, only been shot enough to site in scope and he wants 650.00 for it. I really don't need this one but would buy it since I am weak when it comes to good rifles, pistols and shotguns. I need you all to give me some opinions on the price, I have looked the ones over on GB, GA, etc. and seen there prices but this one should be as good as a new one. Let me know since I have to call him today so he will bring it with him. Thanks!

PS. This would be the first 700 I've owned and was always able to acomplish everything I needed with a semi-auto er.7400. I done in the Corps with a auto loader so I figured I could do it on the outside as well. This is why I never did pursue one even though they are beautiful peices. I always have a hard time getting away from the 7400's, the pumps and levers too.

A new wood BDL around here goes for 500-550 brand new. Factor in the mounts and the scope and your paying pretty much full price. I'm not saying its a bad deal, he's throwing in the sling and case. I really like my BDL's, have fun deciding.

BSA scopes are junk and you will want to replace it ASAP. So it does not add value to the rifle.

ConradCA, I always kinda figured that but never did have any dealings with them. When I first seen them hanging on the board in blister packs with a low dollar price tag at wally world I got the first impression of junk.

Actually, I have two of the BSA scopes on plinking rifles and they do quite well. I will admit my hunters wear Weaver, Lyman or Redfield however. The BSA contender on my little .17 single shot is great for it's purpose, of course it don't get banged around either like a field scope would.

Just recently I seen a rem700 bdl 25-06 with a burris scope mounted, asking 450.00 at a gun shop. Was a nice clean rifle.

I want to thank everyone for their input on this Rifle, in my post I stated 650.00 well I said wrong it was 600.00 smackers but with what I've heard today I think I will stay away from this one. I don't think my Uncle is trying to make anything on me but if he gave 650.00 for it then he paid too much from everything I've seen here and at some of the auctions. I will have to hold on to my wallet this time and walk backwards into my Dad's house when he comes in just in case he brings it with him. Hey guy's, why don't un's tie me up out in the woods until he is gone then I know I won't buy it......

Good information here.---- In this area a clean 700 with good scope will bring about $350-$375 from individuals. -- no

Thanks, Sonny. Sounds like they go at a decent price down that way.......Kinda wish I could buy this one at a price like that!
