(+) Ready to shoot (+) I'm gonna try the PowerBelt Platium's 270g and 2 of the Magnum Triple 7 pellets to start with, and see how that does.

oh man thats sweet looking. i like the rearward curve on the scope rings.
are those magnum t7 pellets the ones where you use 2 and they equal 150 grains? If so, go a next step up to the 300 or better yet the 338 Platinum.
nice to see someone wanting to try out powerbelts in the Accura. Its been bothering me lately lol

I do like the flexibility of that scope base! I'll try not to say more because I hate see-thru rings.

as long as it doesnt make you stretch your neck, those rings aint so bad. I have a set of See thru's on a 30-30 and its the most uncomfortable rifle that ive ever shot.

Using the see-thru's to start wasn't an easy decision. I bought a set of medium rings as a backup, because I agree, the lower the better. The only reason is that I've missed two bucks, one nice 8 pointer this year by not being able to find him in the scope. The Accura stock is bigger than what I'm used to and the cheek rest is higher than my Knight. Between that and being able to mount the scope where I want it, it feels real good. Will see if that holds true after shooting it for a while. As for the powerbelts, I switched from the Hornady Sabots to the copper AeroTips in my Knight a couple years ago, and they provided better accuracy and consistancy. So I figured why not start with there newest Platinum. I've been reading alot about the different loads, and I'm sure I'll try others, its great because theres so many contributers and a wealth fo information on this topic.

Hey I know this post is old, but I was wondering how the finish on the accura looked compared to the finish on the Leupold ultimate slam in silver????????

I have the same problem as Maych had and I don't want to spend $50 just for a scope base. I can't find any other one that will do the trick so I may just hunt with open sights. I don't believe we are the only two who are having this problem. Just as Maych said, the mounting holes on other rifles are consistently two inches farther back. I guess the only other solution is too get something with at least a five inch eye relief but how many scopes have that?

The Omega scope should have that much eye relief.
I really like the EABCO mount. Pricey but worth it. Small investment when forking out big dollars for a hunt or that trophy is in your crosshairs.
