Howdy. Been here a month or two, got a great 99F collection of one. Not the most collectible but it's mine. Really appreciate the quick response to my questions. Thanks for being here.

Also a "collection" of 1 '52 EG in .300. Found this place trying to find exactly I had bought for $199. NOW I know I passed up a '54 EG with Stith and K2.5 that went for $350, and (as I remember) a circa 1916 1899 in .303, octagon barrel, tang sight that was $800. Never missed out on anything like that before. Reading here is enjoyable.

Happy New Year Rick, and to all here.
Been lurkin' for a few years, and just recently made my first post. Excellent site. Lots of good folks for the most part, and lots of good info. I only have one savage 99, a late model E in 308 that I have scoped with a Tasco lumina 3-9:) that I resolve to hunt with this year.

New to the site late 2008, was visting seeking information on a recent 99 purchase. Found that information and became addicted to either the vast knowledge or BS on the site. Interest are 99 Savages, krags, antique firearms in general & pocket watches, hence (oldtimer303). Thanks to those who have already assisted me and to those who will in the future. G.W. I've been lurking for quite a while--like some of the others here I read a lot more than I write.
I only have two 99's---a .358 and a 30-30 Ackley Improved and they are my favorites.
I, too, have learned a lot of information at the Campfire and look forward to roaming around every few days.
Thanks to you all and may the new year be kind to you.

I'm up to 5, 99's, and I like to soak up the knowledge on this forum.

Very thankful for the wonderful group of very knowledgable people who answer an inquiry as if it is a contest!

Thanks to all,

F1

Just discovered the 99 at 2008 Deer Camp. Bought one from a aged fellow giving up hunting. Googled and found this sight. Excellent sight. I have learned a lot. Will continue lurking and asking questions as I really like the way these guns handle and there accuracy.

Down here in the people's republik of Maryland, I picked up a Savage 99, .300 Savage a couple years ago. It is nice and I grabbed it up after spotting it while on a trip to the Adirondacks. I wanted one for many years! Then I picked up an old Weaver scope and Stith mounts from a guy on this site. It is beautiful. Now I just have to find a place to unleash it when deer season comes again.

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
