My father had a PhD. in psychology, and if I learned one thing from him, it's when people exhibit disruptive behavior in a public forum, there are usually underlying circumstances that cause the person to behave in such a way. I would tend to think that larry exhibits classic symptoms of a personality disorder, probably stemming from his lack of control in his own life, so therefore he attempts to gain some measure of control any way possible, such as by disrupting a forum on the internet.

Think how pathetic your life would have to be, to force you to behave in such a manner. I would hazard a guess that in his world, his wife wears the pants in the family, and he is pretty much under her thumb. I would make this observation based on all the manly bravado that is contained in larry's posts. Obviously, he is insecure about his manhood, as he is constantly trying to prove it to others here on this board.

If you observe his posts, you will see a pattern, where he throws out a reasonable sounding statement, and then includes some short remark intended to incite a measured response. This is done soley to gain attention and gives a feeling of control when he receives the desired response (I believe T.Lee can attest to this). It's very similar to the person who smears excrement on the walls of the public bathrooms to hear people complain of the filth. This forum is larry's sh**house walls.

So when you see larrys posts, instead of getting angry and replying, have a little sympathy for the guy. Be glad that your life is not so miserable that you have to resort to some pathetic grab at attention.

People like him enjoy the attention they get being azzholes. He grins every time one of us diginifies him with a response. He ain't "personality challanged". He just has too much fun being an azzhole.

For those of you who are feeding the "Troll" here is a small tid bit to ponder:

We are stuck with these types until they get bored and go ply their nefariuos trade elsewhere. Looks like this particular variant dosn't have the cajonies to step into a thread that casts aspersions on his lack of character. Seems the "Troll" can dish it out but can't take it. I for one suspect that I am a closet Troll for I like to see them, Trolls, get hammered by those who know how to do it so well. I like to see the pain and the senseless babbling comming from the "Troll" when confronted by intelegent responces. I like the pain I Do I Do.
How ever enough is enough when the Troll begins to make up an unvarifiable past for it self it's time to place on ignore.

Considering , my name is mentioned in this subject heading should certainly give me the right to respond. The fact that you claim to your father has PhD. in psychology, doesn't make you qualify to evaluate anyone based on his opinions. Moreover, you are way off base in regards to your analysis of my character. My wife and I have been married 28 years and during that time have been involved to work together in several businesses including one fairly large corporation we started. Raised two children, one formally educated with two degrees and the other attending college today. You guys could only dream of having a wife like mine, and rest assure we both wear the pants in our family. There's one term that comes to mind, it's called male chauvinistic pigs!

We work 6 days a week and our current assignment involves being in Camp for the weekly tour,less much in the way of communications.

Larry, you need to understand that I am only trying to understand why a person would act in the manner you have chosen. While I may not be qualified to practice psych, living with a prof. of psych for half of my life has given me some insights into human nature that I would not otherwise have been exposed. Kind of like have a father who's an auto mechanic, if you don't learn anything about fixing engines from him, you weren't paying attention.

As to my hypothesis, it is obviously just a guess as to what drives a person to post immature rhetoric on a forum that most people enjoy as a leisurely way of exchanging useful information. Obviously, you have some issues that drive you to behave in such a manner.

By replying in such a manner, that, by the way, would not be a normal response for most people, you try to paint a picture of yourself as "better" than the average person on this board. Now why would you do that? If you were secure in yourself and your relationship, you would not be here trying to prove to others, and possibly yourself, how wonderful you are. It makes me think that maybe you suffer from low self esteem, perhaps due to your upbringing. As you know, childhood can be quite difficult. (Please refer to the original post and the mention of bravado)

As for your right to respond, it is also my right to make observations on your responses. My only goal in this endeavour is to restore the modicum of decency that existed on this board before you started posting here. Your posts do not bother me in the least, in fact, I find them somewhat interesting from an anylitical point of view. I just wish you had posted here while I was taking my advanced psych class last semester at college. It would have made for some interesting discussions as to what drive the human psyche to need attention, and the lengths some people will go to achieve the attention they crave.

Keep in mind,, you are one that opened this public discussion making reference to my wife and regardless of your motives, where I come from that is about as low class as it gets.

BTW, take your college analysis and stick it up your ass !

Been reading the thoughts and musings of Larry Martin. No doubt this is the same Larry Martin that started stinking up things over in another hunting shooting forum. His tirade on gun safety in a hunting camp and his dad's camp rules were quite unbelievable. Most of us over there put the fool on ignore and it wasn't too much longer after that he was officially booted from that forum. Larry does have the honor of being the very first person that I have ever put on ignore anywhere. Sorry to see him surface over here.

You are absolutely right, I have been kicked off several so-called hunting forms for the most part about my stand on gun safety and assault weapons. And began your reference to my father's strict hunting camp rules were his not mind. But remember one thing , regardless of how I received here I would never in a million years attack or putdown someone's relative on this form or any other. If someone wants to take issues with my opinions on hunting and other things knock yourself out, but please do not in public put down my family. Unlike the majority here I'm not hiding as a coward behind a screen name,and will consider any comments at them derogatory or otherwise as slander.
