cmshoot, If you want to get your money back out of it,list it here for $950.I would be shocked if it didn't sell within 48 hours.
It's a very,very clean rifle in a desireable caliber.You did good,stop being so hard on yourself.

I guess I wouldn't say that one is more or less valuable than the other, as they are pretty much the same rifle. The 1899 Deluxe Takedown was only offered in the .250-3000 caliber, and when they advanced to the Model 'G', it was offered in all the other calibers available for the Model 99 at that time. The earlier 1899 Deluxes with the cross-checked trigger and perch-belly stocks do bring more. And if you really are worried that you spent too much, I would gladly take it off your hands.

Beautiful rifle cmshoot, really. Am not a vet at these 99's either, but i think you did fine for 950 all in all - shoot, it's a take down .250 99G with few extra's thrown in, and it looks sharp!
IMO, when it comes to internet buy/auctions, one is looking either for the "deals", or the "willing to pay a little more possibly" for something special you want. No shame in that.
