I'd like a 270 and 338-06... and maybe a 30-06 too laugh

Alright guys, time to cough up the money. Lots of us said we'd take one if they made one. What do I do now?

With Kimbers great reputation for quality control I think I'll wait a year to see how the first batch turns out.

Yeah, that's a pretty good excuse for not actually buying one. Wish I'd thought of it. Have to come up with one of my own.
Wonder how many of those who dream and desire will really end up with a new Kimber. Especially since there are a lot of calibers they WON'T be building them in.
Guess it's safe to wish for something they'll never produce, cheaper also.

No excuse just a good reason based on reality.

9.3x62 would ring the bell for me, or a 338-06.

No mention of a Montana version and the 84L will have a 24 inch barrel. You'll be 7 1/2 lbs or more scoped and loaded with sling.

Dealers will be gouging on these bastards,so it'll be easy to wait a year or three until prices come down and problems are worked out.

Not quite... the Montana Version should come in around 5oz's heavier than the 84M Montana... that means if I deck out a 30-06 with Uncle Mikes Mountain Sling, four rounds, Talley Lwts and 6x36 Leupold I'll be around 6lb's 9oz's.

I would definitely like to see one in person. My consternation would be picking the cartridge. Am guessing it would be sensible to flip a coin between the .30-06 and a .270, but for a whitetail rifle, a .25-06 would be ideal around here. More than likely, it would be a matter of taking whatever I found in stock. LOL.

Thanks for the link Dan. The video says that the rifle is called the 84L, has a 24" barrel and will be chambered for the 280AI along with other 06 size rounds.

Can someone tell me what the video says on how much the 84L weighs? My hearing is so bad. frown

My 84M Montana with a 2.5-8 Conquest in Weavers weighs 6.25 lb and the 8400 Montana in 270 WSM with a 3-9 Conquest is 7.5 lbs. There may be room in between those weights. Waiting to read how much more the 84L weighs.

I'm already deciding which rifles in the safe will be sold to fund a 84LA

Wishful thinking but a 6.5-284!!!
Topped with a Zeiss victory, 100grn Barnes...

OK, back to reality.

I'll take a 25-06.
