I'll be shocked if they are light years ahead of the Zeiss FL, Ultravid HD's, Nikon SE's, Nikon EDG, etc. Optically speaking you cannot get much better than what's already available can you?

I just bought an 8x32 FL... resolution poorer than my 8x32 Ultravids, and noticeably smaller sweet spot, not to mention a too fast focus. Sold them.
I also prefer the Ultravids a bit more than the 8x32 EL's, but the Ultravids sharpness (sweet spot) still falls off at around 35% near edge in each barrel... that's pretty typical.
Swarovski has typically lagged behind Leica and, to a lesser degree Zeiss, when it comes to cutting edge innovation. Apparently the tide has turned. If the new bin is perfectly sharp all the way to the margins, lacks severe chromatic aberration, blah, blah... it's going to be one heck of a giant leap forward IMO.

Brad, have you had the pleasure of looking through the Nikon SE?

I have. GREAT glass!
The SE, being a porro, benefits by being easier to build into a pleasing view... roof's are a lot tougher.

Thru the end of this month the prices of SLC is greatly lower than what they will be January 1st when the Anniversary deals are over. The 8.5x42 and 10x42 EL's will remain at the Anniversary prices as they are discontinued and Swarovski no longer has any. Most retailers are close to or already sold out of them. The new Swarovision version will be / is replacing them

Do the new Swarovisions have a built in tripod mount? I didn't see any mention of that in the weblinks.

That would have been smart but I see no mention of that in any of the material I have on it. At this point I would say no. I will advise if I find out differently.
