Yeah you can wait on those super bullits Tex. Them black bears will usually run off if you just stomp your foot and holler at them -- unless they have cubs.

Here's another photo from not to far away around last 4th of July, but I didn't get out of my pickup to try the foot stompin' trick. I've never heard of a Griz in the Snowies or Madres, you have to get up closer to Yellowstone for those I believe.

You might want to keep your eyes open for these though . . .

To reach Jack Creek Crew Quarters from Saratoga, Wyoming, turn west off Highway 130/230 on Bridge Street across from the Wolf Hotel, travel west on County Road 500 to the forest boundary approximately 20 miles, then on National Forest System Road (NFSR) 452 for 5 miles. The Jack Creek Crew Quarters will be located on the left (north) side of the road.

Uhhhh, so spare me from having to go through this whole thing...
This is what I get for not checking the Campfire section routinely.
What's the date? I think I'd be game for whatever.

elkhunter76.........

You can put LeRoy, from Edgerton Alberta, Canada, down as a definite.............

YES--I WILL BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will either have a trailer, tent, or the back of my truck.
Please let me know what I need to bring-meat and such is verboten. Also, what kind of firearms can we shoot. I am already bringing my Shiloh for BPCRS/prairie dogs. Not sure (but will find out) about bringing my original #3 Smith Russian. Maybe a black rifle?
What all are you folks bringing?

gotlost....
send me an addy so I can chip in as well. I am not much of a cook so, I will help with $$ and whatever else I can!

I would like to be down there a day or two ahead of time, but will see what norm99 has time for, if he rides along.

Later.......

What do you Wyoming guys think of the Hacienda Motel and the Silver Moon Motel?

I've stayed at the Hacienda a few times. It is nice and clean, and right next door to the food store and liquor store. It is right next to the airport but air traffic has been neglibible when I have been there. It is within walking distance to town. (about 4 blocks) I have no experience with the Silver Moon. I also have stayed at the Riveria "Lodge". It is an older motel than the Hacienda, but it has a couple of rooms with Platte River frontage, and it has a green space with Platte River frontage. It is in town.
