Crossfire--Another Stevens I see! Nice looking wood and what the devil is that rear sight? A Lyman of some kind I see? Looks to be windage adjustable? What treatment did you use on the metal--I assume due to the reline and redoing the reciever from the original case color that the gun might have been a basket case at one time?
Great work keeping an old gun shooting!

Middlefork,

I just got home. Now I have to get my nights and days flip flopped. Looking forward to some winter rabbit safaris!

That's a "Parts Unknown" ( Now Red River, I believe)....from that Sergio Fella' in Winnipeg, Imported / made in the Ukraine. It's a short Borchardt style Soule, and is indeed Mindage adjustable. The metal is all Rust blued, over varying degrees of prep / polish. If I recall correctly it was Pilkington's, using the Roy Dunlap method.

The screws and a few small parts were Niter blued.

I believe I used that Mark Lee Express Brown on the glass beaded iron frame, the hoo yah around the pins is just oil.

That rifle was an absolute wreck when I started.
