That last one doesn't even sound remotely fun, glad you made it out. Sometimes looking at your progress on the GPS can be pretty depressing.

Dad's awfully proud so I need to post this pic from Saturday. Hopefully it is the first of many. It's the first animal he's ever killed. If it had been allowed it could have been a bull or just about any other flavor of elk you'd like since it was in a herd of about 200. This one was just perfect because we could pack the meat out in one trip. We didn't tell the elk it was shot with a .243 so it fell over dead without any problems.

bwinters, there's a couple photos of bulls taken on private land, but almost all of them were public.
CCH - Great photo and way to get a youngster started!

I've got a serious question for Pat and Kurt...
How many hours a year do you guys log in the field scouting?? Its obvious that you've both "figured something out" with both Mulies and Elk.
I'm Irish...
Of course I know how to patch drywall

Small bull, small rifle...was out coyote hunting and ran into this bull. Shot was from the black ridge behind me with a .220 swift. Dan, couldnt say in hours....probably more in terms of weeks and months!

You work out-doors, correct??
Kurt? You must be a scaler or logger?
I kind of figured that was the reason you two are consistantly successful on good'uns. Time in field...

Dan-I won't try to answer for Kurt and Pat but I can tell you that I've been a bit passionate about taking good bruins and from my time with that, I think that people would be amazed if they truly knew the amount of time effort and money that goes into getting things done like these guys do. Many guys talk about getting it done, many guys can talk the ballistic gack and such these guys can do that plus they get out there and really get after it! Definately another world of commitment.
