Ummmm, that is slightly better than a park bench. Is it a push feed?

Boy you are right. That is a nice looking stick of wood. I would be all over that without a question.

Yes those are push feed actions. They have a small sako type extractor and plunger ejector.

I can't recall for sure, but I think the 338 barrel was stamped on the bottom with something like 10xx 1984. Sound like a Douglas? I don't think these were ever produded in 338. The dealer knew the guy and bought the estate (over 100 guns). He had a lot of customs. He talked about a smith in Mich that did most of his work. The stock could have been custom.

I am not really the guy to ask about the history of those, but I can say that I haven't heard of a 338 WM in that rifle. I have seen plenty of 06's, 7 Rem Mag and some 300 Win Mag's. The guy to ask if you really want to know is "sbhva" as he goes by here. Send an email to him at sbhva aol.com. He knows more about Husky's than anyone I know. Sometimes he's a little slow to answer, but he loves talkin Husky's. This is probably a little more typical of Husky stock wood..... And this one as well.

Most Husky stocks would make great benches, but I still dig the rifles, albeit sucky triggers.

Regarding the barrel stamping, it sounds like a Douglas stamping. All three of mine had the caliber stamped along with the word "Nitro" which I think had something to do with pressure testing with modern powder.

Love that Mannlicher stocked rig there Scott. You are right that the triggers leave alot to be desired especially by today's standard. The one I had all done up in a McMillan stock and Hart barrel had the trigger worked on by G&H. I'm not sure what they did but it breaks just about as clean as a properly done 700 trigger. Pays to have friends that work for G&H I guess.................grins

The FFV (or 1900 action)as pictured is adjustable for weight only. There is a screw visable in the back of the action when you remove the bolt that adjust the pull weight.

speaking of triggers, are they adjustable at all? Yes, the triggers on the 1900 actions (used on the left handed guns) are adjustable via a screw through the tang that you access when you remove the bolt. The .338 has a custom barrel and stock.
