FWIW, Liar24 is back as LSCE. Well its not my birthday today. Even girls jumping out of Birthday cakes have to go home the next day.

11B and 100EW from days gone by, don't think they use that anymore. Rotary Wing Attack. Used Redleg back in the day...big fan of the 8" SP and BB 62. Bigger IS better. Adds color to an otherwise drab affair.

It isn't for mortals, but Lee could probably bring 'em into about 10 meters or less. I never employed arty for close support, only for chasin' Charlie round about the A Shau and bustin' a few bunkers here and there. The 8" was a jewel for that and Free Fire zones were my play ground. Otherwise, snakes took the same direction as artillery for close support and we used mortars for perimeter defense when we wanted tube arty. You can get close with them.  Wish Lee was here, sure he could write a book about it. I heard he invented the Ia Drang Valley. Worthless scut.
