People complain against the plastic stock. Can't understand why they don't just get the hunter or the deluxe hunter. I think they are scared that they will love the rifle and will not be able to talk crap about the Tikka anymore.

The best my T3 has done to date is four shots overlaping at 100yds with 6.5x55mm 140gr Sierras. Even on a bad day it will average .77" for 5 shot groups. Only my skill leval is preventing tighter groups and I am still working up loads. This rifle is amazing!

for factory rifles the stock isn't that bad, if you look at it with the action out, I personally think its actually pretty well braced and heavy duty, if you don't think so look at a savage synthetic stock, now those are flimsy.

a few years ago I was one of those guys that talked crap about all the plastic and yuckyness of the t3's, funny thing is I now own 3 of them.

Tikka's can be an aquired taste, some say to much plastic, don't like the stock, has a removeable magazine. I bought my left handed son a T3 in 270W when a distributer had a fire sale. Plain wrap Remington Corelocks at 1/2" Handloads about 1/3". Just bought myself one in 338 Federal, have not been to the range yet but have no doubts will be under MOA. One of the few that will do that out of the box. If you can get by the looks, it will reward one with excelent accuracy with no work required. one of the better buys IMHO' surprised Sako can sell them at the price point they do.

Here's a boring target from one of my boring Tikka 6.5x55's

Dot is one inch....rifle is a laminated/SS out of the box...

that right there is my 30-06 t3, 4 different bullets 3 different powders, all loads were random loads with no prior or ladder testing, just look in the book charge the case seat a bullet. agg of groups is in the .5's, this gun has also shot some .2ish ragged holes.

my krieger barreled customs with much heavier barrels, that were put together by a gunsmith that has built record holding rifles, they can't beat this gun if a random load is picked.
