i had one of those when i was in school it had like about 300000 miles on it. maverick grabber

We referred to it ever so affectionately as "rolling junk"

I think one with a modern 5.0 mod motor and a huffer would be the best of both worlds. 6 speed behind it.

My first car was a '70 Maverick "Grabber" in (what else) Grabber Orange with black stripes. It had a 200 C.I. 6-banger with auto trans. I don't think the V-8 was available until a couple of years later.
