On a recent trip, I lost the lens covers for my Leica Bino's. After scouring the net looking to buy some, I called Leica customer service. To my surprise they sent me out a new set free of charge. it's good to know there are still some companies out there that will take care of their customers instead of gouging them for a few bucks.

They did the same for me when one of the "hinges" on my objective cover tore. I was very pleased with that.

How things have changed.

I, too, had the same experience with Leica recently. I needed lens covers and they sent them to me free of charge, quickly and painlessly. I had lost them and expected to pay. I didn't have to.

I also just got a repair done to my duovids in an excellent manner and I came away very impressed.

My first time out with my new swarovisions, I lost one of the new lens covers. I called and wrote about seeing what it would take to get a replacement. I can't remember how much they wanted- but I think it was in the neighborhood of $40 for a set. I passed. I was hoping that after dropping over $2k on a set of binos they'd send me another set, but I was wrong.

Kudos to Leica for stepping up their service and their image!

dryfly,

How long did it take to get your bino's back from Leica? I sent mine in almost a month ago and haven't heard boo from them yet.

Their product is great, I'd argue their customer service sucks.
Purchased a pair of ultravid binoculars, took 12 months to get my Passport program card, at the time of purchase binos had a lifetime warranty, when I finally got my program card warranty was only for three years.

It wasn't fast. They had to sent them back to Germany, so I think round trip was around two months. Give them a call and they can usually tell you where they are in the process.

Osix-
Their CS has taken a dramatic turn for the better over the last year or so. They've really stepped up their game.
