168 TSXs shoot well in mine with a moderate load of R-22. Mine's a Vanguard.

Yup, that's what I use, 82.5 R-22 and a 168.

Mine prefers 7828 and 180s of any flavor. I've gotten very good results with the 168 TSX and RL19, IMR4831 and IMR4350. It's a Mark V and not very picky.

I had a Vanguard and 7828 and 4350 with 18os were the go to, it shot the Wby 180 factory load sub moa with boring regularity.

What's the rifle?

Have no idea what make and model ones rifle might be, but the first thing I do with my Weatherby's is float the barrel.

If a 180 Hornady flat base and either 82 grains of H4831 or 84-85 grains of IMR7828 doesn't do an inch, there's something wrong with the rifle.

I'd look more at the gun/sights and far less at the powder. Bullets, perhaps more so than powder.

Some cheaper guns foul very bad at the throat and sometimes barrel heat and going from one bullet to another hurts the odds....

Hawk has a point. Copper fouling is not a friend for accuracy.

If your gun shoots 2" groups with several loads it needs to have the barrel floated and receiver bedded, otherwise you will never know the accuracy potential.
IMHO chasing load experiments at this point with that rifle is like chasing rainbos.

Mine does very well with rem coreloc 180 believe it or not... very well. But it does even better with fact loads from hornady. 180 gr interlocks.

[Linked Image]

Rifle is M70 classic, floated barrel with action bed in fact walnut stock.

I can't help you with a hand load & heck this probably don't help you either but this same rifle will throw Fed premium 180 partitions out to a group the size of a pie plate at 100yds.

I stopped looking for improvement after trying these cheap 180 gr interlocks.

Something clever here.
