About 110 on a snowmobile. Couldn't tell for real sure as the speedo needle was vibrating pretty bad.
140 or so in a 1968 Hurst Olds. Man, that thing would fly! Over 180 in a Viper.

Reason I brought up the plane was, besides being an airplane loony,
the seats had gps info on the tv screens, and I was amazed at the tailwind(jet stream) we had going East. Between Australia and NZ one trip the captain's voice came over the speaker and informed us that we were traveling faster than we ever had or would likely ever travel again . We had a tailwind approaching 300 mph as I recall . I forget what our groundspeed was but 800 + comes to mind . I can believe it. On that same trip I mentioned above, returning home we had a 300+ mph headwind for a few hours. I knew the jet stream was fast, but didn't realize the winds could be that strong.

bout 117 in a car. Planes? I can claim once to have steered a plane by sticking my hand out the window. Oh I will claim fastest speed in a very small car - 100 in a Miata. And I'll claim fastest speed in a fishing boat - 67 (GPS verified) in a 97 Champion with a 2002 model 200 Optimax

In a car, motorcycle, boat, airplane?
. With me personally handling the controls: Car=145 mph, I think. It was a Roadrunner with a 426 Hemi, and it (and me) was shaking so bad, I couldn't read the speedo very well. That's what being 18 and mixing alcohol and muscle cars will do. Don't do street bikes. Boat=50 kts Airplane=.89Mach in a Boeing 727-100. I do .84 Mach every night at work. Depending upon wind, that can be from 440kts to 620kts over the ground. A little higher when measured in mph.
