I see no need for moderators. The issues that arise invariably get resolved in one fashion or another without the need of playground monitors.

Moderators= censorship. In in other forums that have moderators they enforce not just some basic rules, but judge posts by their own criteria. I can handle someone calling my a plucking azzhole ( maybe because is might be somewhat true) but not telling that person that he can't call me a plucking azzhole, that's just plucked up.
"Sir, I disagree with what you say, but I will defend your right to call me a plucking azzhole if that is what you believe."
Two guys square off, mind you own, let them fight their own fight. (even if it would somehow become a literal fight)
Maybe some of the thin skinned girlie men need to go to a forum on needle point, or gay rights.

I agree. FORUM RULES
1] Please be respectful of other posters at all times. The ability to refrain from personal attacks, obscenities, and flame wars is a minimum requirement for a log at the Campfire. Says it all right there. No reason to have two sets of value for real life and internet, IMHO. Really, so you agree with being respectful to folks that condone murder of innocents? How about if someone posted about diddling kids, you'd be respectful of that also. There ain't two sets of standards, but of course some don't stand for anything away from the net either. I agree, All posts are not worthy of respect and should receive none. I do not respect the ideology of the radical Muslims that want to kill me. I for one am not going to lower my standards to accommodate idiocy

As a kid growing up in the 50's we played ball without umpires/coaches/parents around to screw things up.
We had lots of fun, had some arguments, and learned how to get along!

Ah yes, we did. Thanks for jogging my memory. We used a piece of coal to make a slash on the concrete basement wall of the school. When you scored a run you got to make the slash. The teacher never complained about it either. Some games went on for days even weeks, just like some of the threads here!  WN

I think that this forum does have a moderator and that his feeling is that the current level of bigstick manure is good for business. You will note that while bigstick was gone some here said that they missed him! And just look at the level of conversation on this thread. Its in the gutter.
I asked the moderator here to try to tone down bigstick.
Its embarrassing to have someone know that I read this forum. In the future I am going to deny that I do any longer.

You can sure pick out the little short guys in a hurry with their huge ego's.
There should be a height regulation on the Fire of no one under 5'6" allowed.
