A question for the gunsmiths out there or anyone with a good idea!! I have a rem 700 BDL chambered in 300 WSM. I have the standard Rem box magazine with the sides cut out for WSM cartridges and the standard Rem follower and spring. When I cycle the bolt it sometimes misses the next round. Doesn't happen all the time just enough to make me want to come up with a fix. I tried the Wyatt box magazine but wasn't real happy with it and went back to the standard follower. Thinking of the HS Precision box magazine but they are pricey. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks, 163bc
The answer might be as simple as checking your magazine spring.. If it's bent, or out of position, or has unequal (or weak) pressure - a new spring should cure it..
It's paramount that the upcoming rounds in the mag are situationally high enough to ensure positive bolt engagement.. Work with that main issue and the results should be positive...
