"They Shoot Horses Don't They?"

I saw that one in a theater by myself when I was about 12 and was freaked out for days afterwards.

Worst ending was No Country for old men.

Arlington Road - I am not sure it was as surprising as it was desturbing.

I liked the alternative endings provided in "A Gunfight".

Shawshank Redemption, in spite of Tim Robbins.
Another good, unexpected twist.

SAW, the first one. it was gory but the end I never saw coming like it did. the others that followed, not so much.

Arlington road, usual suspects, primal fear, the prestige, 12 monkeys, bloodwork and confidence also had endings I didn't see coming, a few of them I shoulda though

The Sixth Sense wasn't any surprise at all.

But only because some loudmouth gave away the ending on a post here at the campfire.

Folks - some people wait until the DVD comes out which is months after the initial release. Please don't spoil it for the rest of us.

Dunno that I'd agree. I might not have liked the ending, but it was consistent with what we learned of Chigurh's character during the movie. McCarthy's books tend to be like that.

The Village had an ending I didn't suspect.

I liked the twist in The Sixth Sense. Also, The Others had a great twist in the end. Both twists in these two movies were similar, but in case anyone hasn't seen them, I won't describe it.

Being There - One of the last films, maybe the last film by Peter Sellers based on the book by the same name written by Jerzy Kerzinski (sp?). The closing scene (just a single video shot - no dialog at all) is an absolute killer... But you gotta see it. We pretty much are living it now. Really.

The Sixth Sense and The Village had great twists that I didn't see coming. The Others did as well. You guys have already mentioned those so I'll just say I concur.

That's the one where he plays Chauncey, the Gardener (or Chauncey Gardener as he is mistakenly called), right?

Yup.

When I saw the closing shot, I never expected it, but it could not have been anything else.

Maybe, just maybe, there will be a spoiler.
