The RS stock on the 700 RS that I had was made by Six Enterprises. MIVHNTR, I could be wrong.... But I always heard that the RS was made by Hogue. And the AS (Arylon stock) stock was amade by Six Industries... GH GH, you are correct. The AS is the SE stock. I was confused as I sold my 700 AS years ago.

How much does the RS stock weigh? The weight of my long action RS is 38 oz using a digital luggage scale. I see Choate is currently using molded Rynite... OT

What I meant to say was that the RS stock was made by Butler Creek , not Hogue! I ran across my file of old Remington catalogs today. The rifle that the OP originally made his query about, was indeed the M700-AS which was made in only 1987-'88. And only in 3 chamberings in RH configuration: .243 Win, .308 Win, and 7mm Rem Mag! (LH also had .270 Win and .30-06, as well) Actually, all this did is whet my appetite for one in either of the S/A chamberings... As I believe it would be the ideal platform for a .358 Win! (Dammit, I'm always in pursit of perfection!)

Oregon, I once owned a M-700RS in .270. I kept the stock longer than the gun, because it was rather petite in in's dimensions. but Ultimately, the weight of it persuaded me to rid myself of it! Truth of matter is, I have yet to see an injection-molded stock worth walking across the street for. For me, it's Mickey 1st, Brown; 2nd, and I've yet to try a Bansner... But based on what I've read, they should be in the running... GH
