So someone used "his" mark a couple years earlier? Unless it was his father I would call Bull Schcitt. I could see 30 years earlier in either case we would have many more rifles marked with such.

Maybe he was the only one to use it? Or maybe the mark means some thin else? If John told Rick it was his but someone earlier used it? Just not sure of the significance.

I have that mark on my 308-F serial 966566. I that too early for Mr.C

Stamps belong to the company. You normaly are just asigned a stamp so they can identify the person that did the work. Lots of people could have used the stamp over the years...just not at the same time.

Lots of people could have used the stamp over the years...just not at the same time. next thing you have to think about is where the stamp actually is on the rifles, you might use the same stamp 5 times in 110 years ,but that does not mean each inspector stamped in the same place ,or the same serial range JMO Norm
