My main interest lately has been single shot rifles, No. 1's mainly, and I have a "thing" for the oldies.
I'd appreciate the group think to put togeter a list, not necessarily of factory chamberings in a particular rifle, but ones that would be a cool choice in a No.1, custom or otherwise. Mainly thinking medium to small bore rimmed bottlenecks, but hey - list the belted mags and elephant stompers too if you'd like. This is just for the joy of collecting and shooting. As far as stuff to hunt with, already got that pretty well covered.
Off the top of my head, I'm aware of 303 Brit, 300 H&H, 9.3x74R, what else ya got? I think I might want a 22 Savage Hi Power, but the lack of bullet choices puts me off a bit.

adding as I think of 'em. 7x65R 8x57 22 hornet 225 winchester 25-35 38-55 30-40 Krag 30-30 winchester 32 winchester special 348 winchester 219 Zipper/Donaldson Wasp
a bee or zipper might satisfy my 22 hi power "want" with more bullet variety?
I know I'm leaving out a slew of the combo rifle/pistol cartridges too, 32-20, 38-40, 44-40 etc.

+1 on the 348 Win. That would be sweet.
Not an oldie but I'd also like to have one done in a 338-06.

Maybe these are on Ruger's "to do" list. At least I hope so. 35 Remington 300 Savage

A .17 Bee would be different. Or even a .32-20.

Yep, 416 Rigby is a "someday" thought for sure.
Gewehrfreund, that 8.15x46R threw me a loop, I had to do a little research to find that one!

How about a 404 Jeffrey and a 7.62 X 54R Russian. In nothing heavier than a #1S. Those would be fun. And I'll take a 348 too. Mike

I was looking at a 7.62 Russian in my cartridge collection while ago and wondering if that would fit in this group. Works for me

The Fireball would be fun. I will also vote for the .348.
The .327 Federal mag (even though that's not really nostalgic)
.30 carbine?
.44 mag
.375 Winchester

Yep, 375 would be useful. Has anybody mentioned 444 Marlin? That would be nice. 30 carbine... dang, at the risk of being lynched by the carbine guys, I just can't warm up to. Had a Ruger Blackhawk in that years ago, never did care for it. But ok for the list

I have no personal experience but have heard stories of exceptional accuracy from the little .221 Fireball in a rifle platform. I think it'd be a fun cartridge.
