Sorry jimmay another swingandamiss for you, I don't get offended by the psychotic ramblings of some random idiot on the interweb. I do however find your condition highly amusing.
You've taken the "I know you are but what am I" to a whole new level.
PLEASE carry on...
hangunnr Handjobber- You define "random idiot" Funny stuff coming from a "Sticklicker" such as yourself.

I don't think anyone has a beef with John, it is his rifles that people would like to know about. I for one would love to know what makes it a $6000 rig. When anyone with half a brain knows you could have same built for less then half. MCH, Alot of folks seem upset that John has "a" component he is keeping secret, when you say you would love to know what makes it a $6000 rifle,I don't see it as just a "Fact Gathering Event" It's more about telling the maker that his parts aren't worth what he is charging, Most builders will let you know the brand of parts they use in their builds, but not all even Kenny Jarrett kept a few secrets, It's amazing that you guys still hound him on his prices, it seems that you need to be reminded that John is selling a "shooting system" , and we know his components don't add up to 6K , we also know that most barrels can be bought for under $400.00, so is the name of the barrel maker holding you up from buying the system...or is it more about the "TRASHING" of his product....Pretty sure I know the answer!

I made the analogy to racing engines before and I believe it to be valid.
I wouldn't care if an engine builder used Venolia or Mahle pistons as long as the engine is the fastest on the track and lasted as long as the other available engines.
Results are far more important to me than components are.
As far as I can tell not a single actual owner of the GB system has complained that it wouldn't do precisely as advertised.

+1 Exactly as I see it. I don't know why anyone would be so stewed that while it looks that way to you, its not a far stretch that others find it as snake oil price for a "system" one can buy for half the price, and many have, for the same components, that makes some have to "DEFEND" the product. Differing opinions, that's all....don't really know what's up jimmys azz; don't [bleep] care.

Sometimes we forget a firearm is a pretty good investment regardless. They can last multiple lifetimes. They are not disposable consumables. They are investments in tools that can last. If one were to depreciate the system, it might amount to around $2 per shot if the magnum tube lasted 3K rounds. It would still leave you at the end (after a lot of shooting and possibly a lot of trophies) with the used market value of the components, and re-barreling is not a major overhaul which is unreasonably expensive. A Burns re-tube might be more expensive than other smiths, but he might offer his guarantee extended. Value is where one finds it. Makes the cost of quality ammunition seem small, but one can get much enjoyment from their expenditure. Others can do some of the leg work themselves and build a like performing system for much less cost per shot. That's up to them, and how they value their time. I'll admit I know some folks who could not devote the time to working up loads, collecting dope and learning range. For them, a turnkey system and a Leica rangefinder would be their choice in equipment. All that is left is to practice, and hope they learn the skills necessary to employ the rifle. Many have addressed the individual components, the overall claims and the pricetag, but most folks are not overly critical of the man himself. Seems like a good enough fella to me. Heck, anyone that shoots and shoots well, and is active in the business of shooting has to be a good guy. Anyone here ever bought a boat, or a horse?

Nice, a liar too....whoodathunkit...
Pretty low that you'd say something like that in the first place but then you manage to stoop lower by not having the backbone to stand behind it.
PLEASE continue, you got me on the run now...

Shiite, what did you expect hangunnr?
Why pack all that messy meat out of the bush when we can just go to the grocery store where meat is made? Hell,if they sold antlers I would save so much money I could afford to go Dolphin fishing. Maybe even a baby seal safari.
