Here is a great sandwich recipe:
Slather two pieces of warm rye toast with peanut butter. Put about five or six slices of cooked bacon on one piece and three or four slices of kosher dill on the other piece. Make into a sandwich and serve immediately.
Don't knock it untill you've tried it.
I have the feeling that would either be absolutely fantastic, or absolutley disgusting. No inbetween. I know a certain someone who was prone to make anchovy peanut butter sandwiches when he was in an, ahem, altered state of mind. Brian.

Ran into scrapple when I worked in D.C. and rather liked it. Not something you find in stores in rural Iowa. Ran across a recipe for it a couple of years ago and made some of my own. Wasn't bad.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

I'm not sure I'd want to know the details of that, John, but more power to you! My mother's family is from PA, and I used to eat it when I visited my grandparents. If he's guilty of anything it is trying to help someone out that doesn't realize it. Stupidity and sniveling run rampant among those that either want something for (or from) nothing, or are too ignorant to realize the gift granted. ... but like I keep saying, I've got sympathy both ways. I've gotten halfway into recording sessions where it became clear that the end result wasn't going to
meet MY standards, due to the lack of quality of the raw material (the band). It's an ugly feeling. But you gotta just finish up, do your best, deep breath, move on...

LOVE scrapple.
Boil a hogs head till mush, remove bones, add corn meal and spice, pour into loaf pan and chill.
Slice and fry in yer skillet, serve wit eggs and fried taters.
Call cardiologist and tell him eff you! Remove bones? Sheeit. Grind'nem bad boys up and toss 'em in for texture. If anyone's has haggis, it's similar in texture, spice content and flavor. And a GD righteous meat product to fix what ails a man. I grew up eating it with eggs, grilled, buttered english, home fries (potato chunks grilled to a golden brown in bacon fat), and a dab of maple syrup for the Scrapple. Step off, arteries; I'm blitzing!

I had firm instructions from a buddy in ID from his banker to make absolutely certain I did not arrive in Boise without at least 5 blocks of Scrapple.
