Naked pictures can be natural enough I guess.......sure don't find them troubling.

Cool pics Ingwe. I got a few like that too. I didn't even realize he had taken this pic until later.

First let me say I take pictures for me....nobody else. I hunt alone so it's a digital camera/timer and a monopod for me. I have to take allot of pictures to get one good one. I put my rifle in the pictures because I have more than one rifle and love my rifles...they are part of my hunt. Sometimes the rifle just doesnt make it into the shot. like the last two. All of these pictures are self timed monopod pictures

I have known guys who let their buddies pose with a buck that they shot and then brag that they shot it.

I'm almost embarressed to show this pic. This is a classic example of how me not being in the pic makes the animal look bigger. I am not going to tell you how small this bear was. This was a serious judgment screw up on my part. I hid my head in shame when I had him checked in. The guy who did the paperwork was laughing the whole time.

I man not much for longarm pics, but I have probably done it a time or two. Few critters from last year. Maybe a little arm stretch and some blood that was difficult to keep under control while being solo and running back and forth with a timer. Solo again with timer. Probably could have removed more grass and maybe not lean on the critter. Had someone else take this picture. I made the mistake and didn't review the pics. Out of focus and I had to crop a pile. Too much grass as well. Light was amazing about 1/2 before this shot, but I forgot my camera in my other pack. Learned a few things on this field shot.

while being solo and running back and forth with a timer. Remote controls are the bomb when it comes to solo shots. Too bad camera companies have done away with them in their P&S lines. Seeing the end, I bought a couple off eBay a year ago. Should probably find some more to buy.

My opinion on hunting photos: 1. Take more than you think is necessary, today with digital cameras all its going to cost is a bit of time. 2. Keep the blood and guts to a minimum, it doesnt take much to clean up an animal for some quality pictures. 3. Take some pictures both with and without a flash. 4. Put some thought into your photos, its well worth the extra effort to have some quality photos. 5. Dont just take pictures of your animals, take scenery pictures, pictures at camp, etc. etc. etc. A few self timed photos from last year. Its possible to get good photos when hunting solo, but you have to work at it. A tripod helps a TON. New Mexico Pronghorn: Wyoming Pronghorn: Montana mule deer: Wyoming elk:

SU35 - I really enjoy seeing the photos so many hunters post here. Great stuff. That said, yes, there's one heck of a difference in quality of the photos. You brought up two distinct points; one being gun safety with the rifle pointed at or near the hunter, and the other being the photo shown to make the animal/fish look bigger. Both of those bother me a bit. Over the years I've thoroughly enjoyed sharing photos of my hunts with others via e-mail and on some forums. Learned a bit too, from guys who take their photos and hunting seriously. Seems like many of the African PH's know how important those "trophy" photos are to their hunters. Mostly I see the animals cleaned up and posed nicely. Makes for a great photo for the hunter to preserve and share the memories of the hunt. A few of my favorites: Youngest son's first deer. A buddy with me and a mule deer. One of my bucks, on a solo hunt. I like this one even though I've been told it looks like the horse grew antlers! Should have cleaned up the blood a little better here. Forgot. On these last two, the guys we were hunting with really went out of their way to clean up my son's bear a bit and pose him for the photos. Worth the effort in my opinion. Pretty proud of the young fellow in several of those photos. He sure seems to enjoy our time afield together, and we've got quite a few photos in the great outdoors. Many of my game photos haven't come out so great, but I'm giving it a try. Keep on posting 'em guys - it's great to see hunting photos. Keeps the dream alive. Buzz - those area some great photos! Regards, Guy

Ingwe--I couldn't agree more. Shows the realism, and most of the time TRUE emotion that goes into the sport. Very nice pics EVERYONE.. For me, well, if I'm lucky enough to see or even kill a deer with antlers they're far to small to make them even appear big. . .grins..hard to grow tines/main beams/G2's/drop tines from buttons, spikes and forks...
