The 700ML shoots much better than that.

Actually, a rod equals 5� yards. A group like that, of around 2" fired 143 years ago with either iron sights or primitive optics, at 220 yards, is remarkable. Many an inline of today would be hard pressed to match it. Hell, for that matter how many people do you know who can actually shoot that well with any kind of rifle? (Internet "keyboard" benchrest groups not withstanding.) I would take one good Billinghurst rifle with all of it's accessories over three dozen Rem 700's (ML or cartridge) any day of the week.

Hey Poobah, I don't think a muzzleloading SUX can do 10 shots in a foot at 40 rods. JMO
OTOH, I got a .30 carbine ML that's a pretty good sniper rifle. That's what the guy said I bought it from. Haven't tried it out yet but he swore it would dot an "I" at 500 yards. I notice that "I" ain't dotted... Hope he wasn't funnin' me...

Remington can't even make good camo tape. I'm still trying to get the stickum from their non marring camo tape off my rifle from last season. Their rifles absolutely suck donkey balls !
