I've been shooting an old Bear recurve in 55# since around 1974. I then got a Kodiak in 50# and a Browning Nomad Stalker I at 45#...both again, are recurves, and have been around a . I bought a compound from a friend for $75 about 23 years ago or so. It's a Quicksilver and adjust on the poundage. I have it set at 50#. None are fast or fancy, but all ahve taken many deer for me. I am into rifles and hand guns a lot more than bows, even though I do enjoy bow season. Since my old timey stuff still kills deer, bear, and the occasional hog for me, I don't see the need to buy any more bows. Now arrows? I buy a lot of arrows. I really prefer carbon to aluminum any more.

'95 Proline Riptide. Haven't shot it in a couple years, but looks like it may get some use this year. I've been drooling over a new Martin for years, but my old PL still shoots so nice and draws so smooth it's hard to spend the money on a new bow.

Nothing newer than 1997, nothing older than 1957. All wood/fiberglass, and they all work just fine. Parts aren't a problem. Lots of guys in my bow club shoot older compound bows. Dead is dead.

I'm shooting a 50# Browning Nomad recurve that I bought used years ago. Not sure when it was made. 1960's or 70's I'm guessing.
