I'll be gone for about 3-4 days. Am going to the wake and funeral of the father of my son-in-law in Chicoppee, Mass.
The doctors had said about 5 years ago that he had 2-4 days to live. Well he was a lot tougher than they gave him credit for. Had cancer, was a heavy smoker, etc, but a real good guy.
Neat rifle! You gonna put a recoil pad on it? Or is there one already there? I didn't look beyond the initial photos. I just like the 300 Savage.
Nah - original plate on it. Unless you count the skinny pads on Rugers, the only thing I have with a recoil pad is the 8mm Mag. I already have a 99 in .300, so I'm covered on dies. It may be interesting getting the sights sorted out on this 1920. It's already D&T for a side mount so at least I won't feel bad if I have to modify it again to mount a receiver sight - which is what I really want to put on it.
Don't take this as Gospel as I haven't talked to anybody. That said, I'm sure if you're willing to spend the cash they'll allow you too continue spilling blood.

Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back.
Or for an additional fee could you get another one???
You can take as many animals as your check book will allow.
For any bow hunters coming, the year I was there were a few Aoudad and one Black Buck that would give any archery a hunter a challenge if one were to try and stalk them.
For those interested in the dates for this hunt, please check out my post on page 9 dated 20 October. It is one of 3 or 4 I posted that day.
Any questions, please let me know.
And I'm still working on getting a special rate for a second hog, along with finding out if Wilderness can freeze meat for shipping.
Steve
Steve,
If one were to shoot a large boar, can the meat be donated to a food bank, or a charity such as the one a hunter can donate venison to? A big old boar just isn't palatable in any form including sausage.

TN. does have a "hunters for the hungry" program. Check the TWRA website for the nearest processor to the Cookeville,TN. area. This is the nearest town of any size to where you'll be hunting.
