Let's see you 2011 Deer photos taken with your Savage. Here is mine a nice 8 point taken with my Grandpap's Savage 99 250-3000. This is my second year hunting with the old 99, last year I shot a 5 point with it. This gun has a lot of sentimental value and will always stay in the family

Might ask him about the buck's set of twins. Damaged testicles or other issues with them can cause the velvet to stay on much longer.

Or absent completely. One of our group shot an antlered doe some years ago. She was full velvet and in her milk.
