If I could only figure out how to post a picture. My wife and I worked on it for 45 minutes last night. So frustrating. Why can't this work like Craigslist?! I can get pictures on there in a few minutes! Why does this have to be so hard? What am I missing?

I agree that it's a total pain in the ass. Why it's not like Facebook where it uploads straight to the site in mere seconds is ridiculous. I've got endless pics of 99 kills and other Savage pics but no one will ever see them.

I am not real great on a computer, but actually my wife is. We can't figure it out. I'll try the tutorial. It keeps saying my images are too large, or have too much info in them, you know what I mean? I tried cropping the pictures, but didn't help. I tried photobucket, not good. It's just me I'm sure, but it really could be easier. I can do Craigslist....

you CANNOT upload photos directly to the fire... you MUST use a service like photobucket. check out the tutorial... it should make it easy... lots of first timers use it and say it was easy and straight forward once they viewed the tutorial.

I don't use a computer, I use my iPhone 99% of the time, so photobucket isn't an option

Must have been pre-2005 and I just got used to doing it that way and never looked back at doing it the other way. I even still change the tags when I copy off a photobucket account.

Guess life just got easier!

See, there's the problem. I don't even know what the heck you guys are talking about. All that "tag" talk. I am so unworthy. I am so unworthy.

fireball, it's actually pretty easy.

First thing is to get the picture to an internet web site that will store it for you. Photobucket.com is very common, picasaweb.com is another one, there are others out there.

Second thing is to find the internet path to the picture. Every picture has a path, just like every web site has a path. https://www.24hourcampfire.com is a path to a web site, while http://www.24hourcampfire.com/images/imge2.jpg is a path to a picture. A picture path usually ends in .jpg or .JPG or .GIF. Photobucket or picasa will usually give you a box with the path to the picture, just have to copy it from there.

Then you paste the path to the picture between two "tags". The starting tag is which tells the campfire that you are done displaying a picture.

So...

[/img]

all together on one line produces:

I shot this one this afternoon with my 99E Lightweight that I got from forum member marshfellow and wearing the Stith/Alaskan that I got from Mule Deer.

I'll post a pic later of my brother and I. He also shot an 8 point with his 99EG in .250-3000 that he bought from 300jimmy wearing a 3/4" Stith setup. A good day for the Osterberg boys. Both of our boys shot spike horn bucks yesterday. More pics when I can!
