Hi guys; longtime lurker here. Over the years, this is the 5th Antelope to fall to this rifle.

Nice shooting and thanks for posting, Paperpatch1. What bullets are you shooting?

Your setup looks close to the 1950 250-3000 "EG" with a 10x Weaver that I've rigged up for varmint shooting.

My buddy Sten and I just got back from a New York hunt. I shot a small button buck about the size of a small dog. (good eatin')
My buddy Sten got a beautiful 10 point.
This was the first year we could use rifles in Chautaqua County, so I brought my pre-war 30-30 EG.....

An additional pic of my brother and I. These made for 4 bucks at camp taken with 99's. My son's spike with a 99F .243, wisconsin99's fork with a 99EG in .300 with a Stith/4x Norman Ford, and these two.

I don't mean to ring my own bell, but Drew posted my blacktail deer/Savage 99 pictures under "Fireball2 pictures" in this Savage collectors forum. I haven't gotten the picture deal figured out yet.... If I could I would include mine here. Thanks...

Howdy All,
I unexpectedly inherited a 1926 takedown in .300 a couple months ago. It's worn, beat up, dinged, scratched and, as you can see, the butt stock has a slip on recoil pad and compass. Oh, the horror! The scope is a 4x Kollmorgen.

I cleaned it up, remounted the scope and sighted it in. Accuracy was good and the glass was surprisingly clear.

Took these two dink Georgia does this past weekend with factory Remmy 150 CL's. Both broadside lung shots @ 50 yds, bang-flops within seconds of each other. Pic show the exit sides. Really liked the fast follow up for the second shot.

LOL! 2x DRT's with a 1920 designed cartridge in an 85 year old rifle with a +/- 65 yr old scope. Have to admit I was chuckling as I climbed down the tree I was in.

Thanks Gramps and RIP. Wish I could've told you in person.

FYI, I'm a new 99 fan and hooked on my "new" deer rifle. Might hafta check around for another or two....

Congrats and great job! It's amazing how well that 300 Savage cartridge works, isn't it?

And be warned, it's very tough to stop with one 99. grin

Thanks Calhoun and yes, I was very impressed with the terminals. With 6 more weeks of deer hunting left here (and more tags than I need), I should have the chance to shoot a few more with it. (My neighbor grows peanuts and would like me to kill them all....)

Your warning is noted (and ignored) laugh.

Oh, that's a model 99G, by the way. Your granddad had good taste. Sorry to hear about your loss, but I'm sure he'd be very happy to see it get out in the field again.

Here is a photo of my 2011 Wisconsin rifle buck. Shot out of the same camp as Docost & family. I have shot many bucks with a savage 110 bolt, but this was my first deer with a 99.
