Whats your count to date for this season. I got started mid OCT.
#1 was a Spike (40 or so yards, 308 in the chest out the ribs DRT)
#2 minutes later Huge coyote, spine shot
#3 8 point, 200 pounder, 40-50 yards, 308WIN DRT in the chest out the ribs.
#4 Dink in the garden 2 shots 243 TSX, first in the chest out the ribs, 2nd shot entered 2" from 1st exit and exited in front of shoulder. made it about 20 yards.
#5 DOE TIME! 30-40 yards 308win in the chest, out behind the shoulder with 308 DRT.
#6 6 point, 145 pounds. 40 yards 308WIN Neck shot DRT.

Regs read...
Game Zone 2
Limit 5 antlered deer for all seasons combined.
Gun Hunts: Oct. 11 - Jan. 1, Limit: 2 per day, 10 deer total

Still have 4 doe tags and 1 buck left. So i can limit out but its going to take hitting the woods weekday AM's.
The big 8 point took up a lot of freezer room, too. Might have to hit Lowes and get another flip top.

Shot one cowhorn in early November - he is in the freezer as burger. Been chasing a nice buck for the last week, but going to take a few does soon whether I get the buck or not (need a little sausage for the freezer next).

Shot a nice bodied 6 pt on opening day weighed 170# dressed. Ky is a one buck state so that's probably it this year as the farm I hunted is a zone 2 bucks only. I get a chance to go out a day during the late ML season and pickup a doe. We'll see.

Early November 1 doe.
Last Sunday 1 spike.

Heading out in 10 minutes to add something else to the freezer. No huge rush though. Between the pile of salmon and the couple deer already put away, it's time for a bigger freezer. Got till new years to fill 2 more tags. Might even try a late season Mt. Goat for fun.

Deal with it.

Well, lemme see......

If I count Zimbabwe last summer, I got a cow cape buffalo, and a tuskless elephant under my belt....whistle grin...

All BS aside, this has been the worst deer season I've had in over 2 decades. 3 weeks before the gun season opened, I lost the place I had hunted on, for over 30 yrs. Scrambled to find some other places, and shot a big doe, opening weekend. But between the moon, wind, and warm weather, that's been it. ML season opened yesterday, and we should have some cold weather moving in, by tomorrow. Maybe things will pick up.

WT doe left handed from a tree stand; also got a scope cut on the bridge of my nose
WT buck shot in the middle of mule country where we saw no mule deer
WT doe shot in gale force winds in SW Alberta. trees were coming down but you could not hear them fall because of the wind.Hunted in the leeward areas.
MD doe at -20C -4F for the good folks in the US

That's all the tags I had for the regular season; ends Nov 30. too much work and no freezer room to pursue deer in the ML / slug season.

If you count all year 2 Axis buck and an Armenian ram on the university graduation trip this may in Texas.

Best wishes to all. GRF

4 with a bow, 2 muzzle loader 1 by my Great Niece during the Youth hunt. These were all does. Then a very nice (best ever for me) heavy beamed, 11 point during gun season. 246 yards with a 257 Weatherby. Happy to post picture but still do not know how. TM

Just 2 for me so far.....been a real weird slow year
The weather, moon, wind and food sources have all thrown a wrench in things in which anybody from Indiana will tell you.

I have a 5 deer quota this year (implemented by my wife grin ) so I still have work to do.

My first....a 7 pt with my .358 wssm.

My second.....also a 7, would've been an 8 but he busted a brow tine..taken with same rifle.

Must be a local term (like "baskethead") that I have heard/used all my deer hunting days. A "cowhorn" is a young buck with a big spike or small curving antlers. Here is the one I referred to in my post.

Doe whitetail and cow elk. May try to get some squirrels and rabbits, but otherwise, I'm done.
