Since the deer I shoot these days are inside 150 yards (usually way inside) I use the bullets designed for the .375 Winchester or .38-55 WCF. I have a great quantity of 200 gr. Sierras and 220 gr. Hornadys that work well with about 28/29 grs of 4759 which gives around 2200 fps. The 235 Speers are also great but not needed for my use.
In the past I used full loads behind 300 gr. Sierras and Hornadys but while they kill deer great at any range, are a bit rough in my Ruger Tropical.

Works for me

Years back I managed kill permits for whitetail in a productive area that would run from September until the end of May each year. I used many combinations of weapons from selfbows to centerfire rifles during that time and would normally need to cull between 20 to 30 deer to meet the numbers. I'd built a 375H&H for use on hunting trips for big bears and decided to use it on the deer culls for trigger time and to vet the rifle. Using several combinations of 270 and 300 grain standard velocity loadings, I found the chambering highly efficient at producing quick and clean kills with minimal meat damage. I went on to use this rifle, on and off, for over a decade to take quite a number of game animals, to include many deer. Based on that experience, I see no reason to download or to upload the 375H&H. Keep it simple, just use a standard velocity load in either 270 or 300 grain and shoot game. The rifle is now retired to the safe and I no longer use a 375H&H on deer, but for the times that I did, it worked very well. Good Luck Edit Note: Just Realized you only specified .375 and not H&H, so the post may be moot.

I'll cast another vote for the Speer 235. I shoot it a bit in my 375-300 Win and have taken antelope, mule deer, elk and even coyotes and whistle pigs. Have yet to catch one or have to look for a critter I shot with them. They are very accurate in my rifle too. I don't even know if they still make them?

I sure hope that "little" 235 gr bullet is still in production. Good light-bullet alternative in the .375 H&H.

its a hot core now. running them slower than the H&H. 19" BBL 376 steyr. i have a box of 235's but the rifle likes em a bit heavy so i might try the 270 hornady.

I found 260 Accubonds shot sub moa to 300 yds in my 375 Ruger, I would expect the 250 Sierra to do as well. Lead bullets do fine for me, I'll probably never shoot anything larger than a moose farther than 200 yds out.

Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets

Try the 200 gr Sierra flat nose @ 2200 fps. I use IMR 4759. This will give you a one shot kill with very mild recoil. whelennut

The 375 H&H Magnum needs 41 grs of IMR 4759 to get you 2250 fps. This bullet shows loads up to 3200 fps in the Sierra manual. They would be for shooting varmints I think, as 2250 fps results in a very dead deer. The Sierra manual does not show reduced loads for the Weatherby magnum in my manual. (50th Anniversary edition) I would call the Sierra tech line if I were you. 1-800-223-8799 whelennut

I have no idea what is the best nor am I quite convinced there is any single best.
My own choice in a Dragoon in .376 Steyr (paired with a Scout) is the 260 Accubond for all practical purposes.

Thanks whelenut I will give sierra a call. Most every thing I read max load for H&H is starting load for the wby. I do not need speed reduced recoil is what I want.

Anyone have any good loads for use with the .375 H&H and the 235 gr. Speer? I have a box of them but have not played with any handloads for it yet. I have some Varget, RL-15, RL-19, H4350, Big Game and Hunter. Thanks.

The 300gr TSX is a killer on whitetail. I even recovered on under the skin on a lengthwise shot, perfect expanded.

Any 300 grain bullet ever made, coming out of a 375 is a deer killer.
It is better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.

Any 300 grain bullet ever made, coming out of a 375 is a deer killer. I have taken deer with the Hornady 270 grain and the Speer Grand Slam 285 grain. I agree with 378Canuck, that about any 300 grain or whatever out of a 375 will kill a deer cleanly
I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first
