Dig the barrel choice!

These rifles will set the UL rifle world on fire at $1400 clams$$......But Mel did pioneer ultra light rifles, so it's fitting he gets the chance to put it to Kimber & Weatherby......
I can see the Forbes factory going 24/7 once word gets out.

Hotcake anyone wink

JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

They come with a no.1 or no.2 contour?

24" barrel on it, but the website does not say that I've seen. I've assumed a #2.

I just emailed them... only way the Forbes would appeal to me over the Kimber 84L MT is if it comes with a no.2...

the rifle looks great, snd I hope they shoot well, as Petzal said, he has a ER Shaw gun that shoots like He11, as in not good.

Overall, I think this shows promise, but will wait for the early adopters to find out.

Also...

At the end.... the barrel is bending away fromthe stock? Really? Really? come on... some of what Petzal said was tongue-in-cheek, but this is rediculous.

If you follow what he said carefully, he meant they shoot well... which has been my experience with Shaw barrels.

Congrats to Melvin for adjusting to the "new economy". I'm sure he will be a busy man very soon. I think I can squeeze in one more .270.................

I'm thinking the same thing, I have another 06 on the way (pushfeed lightweight Winchester) and would love to have a 270 in the forbes rifle.

Will these be coming to Canada?

Canada by choice, British by Blood

Not much more expensive than a Montana, and I think I'd rather give my money to a small manufacturer

Hopefully there will be southpaw offerings. Then I can stop dreaming of a Kimber Montana...:)

UK Dave; if they do not come into Canada Prophet River Firearms in Lloydminster will import one for a small fee. They tend to carry a pretty good selection of quality product and I would not be surprised if they carry them.

I am sure a shop closer to your home would provide the same service. GRF

Looks like one hell of a rifle to me, for the money. I'd like to get my hands on that stock. If I lived in a place that was away from the saltwater, and didn't have 120" of rain, I'd get one.

Thanks for the report. Its good to see more lightweight rifles as competition makes all better.

From what is presented the Forbes rifles don't have features that I prefer in a hunting rifle such as a M70 type safety, CRF and SS availability.

For now the Kimbers shoot very well for me and have those features.

I think they started with the wrong action size.

What more do you get for the $2100 difference when going with the NULA?
