I like the rifle but I dont care for the chamberings offered. Right now the safe is pretty full so it would take something speacial to get a spot in there, that rifle could do it if it was chambered for a cartridge that I can get giddy over and replace my 7-08.

They should be able to sneak a few into Canada. California? Forget it! Will these be coming to Canada?

If the barrel flexes that easy, I'll pass.

If the barrel flexes that easy, I'll pass. Seriously?

What more do you get for the $2100 difference when going with the NULA?
A Douglas barrel. ddj And Melvin's hands on every step of the action manufacture and barrel fitting/chambering. Good question. I've been in Mr. Forbes shop more than a few times. I can tell you if he had to make each rifle, the wait time would be forever plus. His phone rings at least four times an hour with people who want to talk or ask questions. He is pretty much chained to it. You call Nula you get Melvin on the other end. I've called at least 20times and not once has anyone other than him answered. He has two men who do the majority of the barrel/action work. He oversees them and signs off on the final product, however he doesn't have his "hands on every step." I'm sure there are times he is on the machines, but again if he had to do so on every rifle the wait would be unacceptable. So what do you get extra? Well on average, they had best be more accurate, built to a more consistent standard and more reliable or you don't get anything extra. All that being said, and in spite of so many here who seem willing to part money for the yet unproven Forbes clone, I have two more on order from that little shop in W.V. A .223AI and an Inline ML.

I'm curious as to the bedding on the Forbes rifle. Wonder if it will be pillar or glass bedded. Know that NULA rifles are full length bedded.

If the barrel flexes that easy, I'll pass. I think that little "barrel flexing" demonstration was pure BS... the stock flexed.

Brad,
I don't know what that was all about either. I don't have any rifle that one could get that much flex out of the barrel when it is scewed down. And with my Nula's if you can separate the barrel and stock more than a 1/8in you are one strong individual.

I'll be interested in handling one. I've been trying to talk the Shedhorn boys into carrying them and the NULA.
As with all else, time will tell.
Thinking for me, I've still have a thing for Mausers and M70's with nice pieces of African Walnut on them.
But, it'll still be fun to get a grip on one.

I stand corrected. I thought Melvin was NULA and vice versa.

I don't know how much longer Forbes will be running NULA. It seems that's why he came out with the Forbes 24B. Mel's kids don't want the business and I guess he's getting to the point he wants to have more personal freedom.

They come with a no.1 or no.2 contour? No. 2 The 24" barrel depicts this as does the look of the rifle compared to my 24 with it's 2#.
