The .338 Federal Hawkeye is confirmed and still dead-nuts. What are you shooting through the Fed? Bringing my Montana in 338 Fed. Will shoot 185 TTSXs. Wanted to shoot some 210 Partitions but haven't been able to sight it in, so sticking with what I have.

Plain ol' 200 grain Fusions. I haven't set up to load for it as the damn things shoot great.

Just picked up a couple cases of mixed Saranac, Sierra Nevada and New Belgium beers. I figured if it wasn't a dry county they'ed have both kind of beer, Bud and Bud light so best prepare. Also will throw in a couple bottles of aged goodness just in case someone gets bitten by a snake.  .257 Bob and 7-08 are dead on at 100 and I'll likely throw the Copper .22 and a brick or so in. I'm going to hit the road Tuesday pm and get 4 hours or so under my belt of the 11-ish it'll take me. I'll have to stuff the cooler in the back seat of the car as I see no need for any off-road work and it gets better mileage and is tons more comfortable at speed.

It looks like Jim and I will be rolling out of his place at around 2030ish. I'm thinking we'll be hitting the lodge at just prior to 1100.

I'll be cookin' at night, so any requests besides bbq pig (and boudin, of course)? I'm thinkin' maybe some smothered pork or gumbo? Bob and Chris have tightened us up with some gourmet burgers for Wednesday night...

I know it's been asked but what do you and the other cooks need?
I have a bunch of venison in the freezer and would be more than happy to hit a butcher shop or wherever to grab supplies.
I have a couple bottles of General John Stark vodka (local product) along with whiskey. Just say the word....

I'm also debating throwing in my 1911 in case anybody decides to run with dogs. I'm just not sure if I trust the Rangers for hog-stoppers.

Two years ago,I shot a rusian Boar With a .444 Marlin and when he got hit, the only move he made was from the impact. Dang thing went dead on it's hooves!

George Me running with dogs would likely result in either frustrated dogs, or maybe the boar caught rolling on his back helpless with laughter. But I can offer to loan the .480, for anyone who wants a bigger pistol for backup. There are also .357 &.44 N-frame S&W's that could attend, but I've only factory ammo for them, no hardcast. I was thinking of bringing my big slow cooker, and also some venison, and stew fixin's.

Hunting with the dogs was a great time. Of course I like dogs better than people as a rule (present company excluded of course ). We'll see if anyone is up to it with me. Plenty of time..... George

I'm bringing my 270 Gunner I nearly did, have bullets, new Nosler brass, and a new Loopey that could go on it. Then realized I have I have no .270 dies  oh well.
