Thx Butch, they're basically tools to me but I want them to work to perfection. This rig's bounced a lot of game and my wifes taken a lot of elk with it as well.

Thx Tanner, it's got some panache for sure. But when I'm shooting it I don't know...grin

Been watching this thread from the start. There are some fine rifles here.

Dober, I've been hoping you would post a complete pic of that G33/40 of yours. Like it a lot. cool

TT did you retain the Argy bottom metal for this rifle?

Beautiful guns!

Very nice. Style is similar to what I'm interested in for my current project. Which loads does the bob like? Thanks.

Fantastic pair T. Nice Argy, big fan. Got a mild custom Argy in the safe in 7X57, still unfired except for proof test. Big thanks for your posts and the numerous ones as shared by others. I haven't been this inspired by any one thread as I can recall. Now. I just hope I can calm down enough to finish off the inlet whenever my hunk of claro shows up from RMF. grin

No, when I got the rifle it already had custom bottom metal on it. I think I've picked up three or four 09s in the past five or six years, an none of them had the original military bottom metal.

Thanks.

I always thought that was the big lure with them. Are they also considered a better made action so people want to use them regardless of the hinged bottom metal?

It seems to shoot the several combinations I've tried really well. It does fine with 100 and 120gr Hornadys, and IMR 4350 & 4831. My current load is 47.5 gr Reloader 19 and the 100gr Hornady right now because it does well with them and I have a lot of both.

It's a rock star all right. I like the straight bolt handle. How much does she weigh? When I get down to Bozeman, I'll buy you lunch at the little Mexican place on Main.

Ed, that is a stunning rifle. Was it any big deal to get a M98 bolt shroud fitted to the M96?

Congrats.

Not sure if this qualifies but it is a small ring Pete Grisel action. Rifle built by Roger Green. A 280 Remington.
