Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

No difference in fouling between conventional lead core jacketed bullets and Barnes TSXs and TTSXs.

Wow! Did you refer to Ingwe as "the old guy"? That's about as insulting as bringing up the dreaded .270 topic, which I sure wouldn't do... blush

I'm sure Ingwe will want to qualify his above stated experience and testimony to specifically exclude that whole .277 thing... laugh

I'm sure he'd never admit to having fired TSX, TTSX or any other projectiles of that particular diameter... shocked

Excellent choice, you are going to like it. What powder(s) are you considering using?

I shoot them all the time, and they are much better than the old X bullets.

Figured I'd start with 43-45 gr of Varget. I like the H Extreme powders.

I have been using them since they first came out, have had no fouling issues, if you are having a fouling problem it is more likely caused by your barrel.

TTSX & TSX, IMO, actually foul less than many gilding jacket bullets.

But almost all my rifles that get much work are coated with the Dyna Coat stuff so fouling isn't much of an issue but the Barnes didn't foul any worse than anything else in a given gun before the bore coating.

As for the 7-08 loads with 120's, RL-15 at 44.5 gr. is my normal go-to load but I've also had great success with Varget, RL-19 & H4350 as well, mainly with 140's though.
