That's a set-up, because everybody knows you drink straight from the bottle.

Another vote for Buffalo Trace! I can get it locally for $37 for a 1.5L. I also like the KNob Creek, but believe the BT is better and about $5 a 1.5L less money. I need to try the Bulleit as well. I'm not necessarily a bourbon drinker, but I'm one who likes variety. I like good Scotch, bourbon, tequila, vodka, pretty much all with just a little frozen water to cool it off.

My taste tend to go towards the Tennessee wiskeys but a smooth inexpensive bourbon try Early Times. Not bad at all.

If you're talking about the regular stuff, it isn't bourbon. The 354 is.

Happy anniversary Virgil!

I'm glad you liked the Laphroaig too. When you said you enjoyed an Islay malt, I thought I'd mention a whisky about as Islay as they come.

thank's mathman!

Took the little Lady out to primrib and lobster.

Spent $190. on dinner, so I figured I needed a "wee nip" of something special.

1792 / Makers Mark / Basil Hayden / Bulleit ........ in that order.
That being said, for the weekday consumption it is Old Crow and water on the rocks.
I will say that I tried a bottle of Angels Envy a couple of weeks ago and straight up on the rocks was the only way to drink it. Water ruined the incredible flavor.
Tried some of the new Four Roses bourbon here over Fathers Day courtesy of a friend and it was pretty darn tasty as well.
Ugggh.... so much corn whiskey and so little time!! smile

That's a broad question, there's more than one version. The 107 proof Antique is quite good.

Good discussion. I agree Buffalo Trace, Basil Hayden and Elijah Craig are really good. I was in a bad mule wreck and gave the guy that helped me a bottle of Craig.

Here in the West the horse crowd really like Pendleton and Eight Seconds, but they are correctly not bourbons, I think blended. High end Canadian whiskey can be a pleasant change for even dyed in the wool bourbon drinkers.

Micro-distillers are becoming popular and I can hardily recommend New West out of Park City, UT of all places.
