If you've ever actually asked Stick for advice and thoughts on rifles, scopes, loads, bullets, etc.... You'd know he's BTDT and will be able to tell you what you need to know. We've all got ways of delivering messages, but the facts are what counts... I've never seen him or her help anyone, just be a schitheel, so I question it's so called "expertise". There's plenty of other knowledgeable gentlemen on this site minus the bullschit attitude that are more than helpful.

What is the point of this thread? Good question, it started out as a fellow having questions about the 223 Improved, then morphed into this after dirty Boxershorts chimed in. But luckily, his questions were answered.

it's a 223 Ackley improved. What is different about it. Is it better then just a normal 223? Not much....

Couple years ago, I asked Stick a fairly specific question about saw chain. (pro chain, the real deal) All I got was an insightful and detailed answer based on experience. I'm still pizzed.

Couple years ago, I asked Stick a fairly specific question about saw chain. (pro chain, the real deal) All I got was an insightful and detailed answer based on experience. I'm still pizzed. Chainsaw's and the uhn uhn..What's that? We did it with crosscuts.We actually did on a couple horse logging jobs...I am glad times have changed. Sharpening a cross cut properly is a challenge unlike a chainsaw. Carry on....... Jayco

it's a 223 Ackley improved. What is different about it. Is it better then just a normal 223? Holds a bit more powder and handles pressure better, enough for a step up in velocity. Also gets arguments every time....mostly from people who don't shoot it.
