Thanks Greg, my first Rifle was a 6mm and I still have it(its 42 yrs.old). I will stick to my larger bores down in the triangle. But I still might build one for the fun of it. Anxious to hear about your trip. Did you get charged this time, like the one I saw you kill on TV?

No charge this time. I shot 2 buff, a Lichtenstein hartebeest, Nyasa wildebeest and zebra. I had 3 clients with me and they all shot the same plus a few impalas. We got some great footage for my new show, A Rifleman's Journal, which airs Saturday nights on The Sportsman Channel.

Start at about the .270 Winchester.

Thank God I went with the .270 instead of the 6.5-06. Im sure my life insurance would not have covered me if something had happened while deer hunting with such a marginal round. The 130/270 combo is a much better stopper that the 140/6.5 combo I was considering. Thanks 99....
Hunt hard, kill clean, waste nothing and offer no apologies.

6mm's are for woodchucks and targets.
With the right bullet, I've no qualms with any 6mm on game a whole lot bigger than woodchucks...I'm fairly new around here, but I'm purty sure you don't have a clue.

I looked REAL hard at picking up a 240 in the new S2 Vanguard and quickly concluded it offered nothing much more than my 25-06, besides cost and a smattering of higher BC bullets. I don't shoot much beyond 500 yds anyway, so the higher BC bullets probably wouldn't help much. In addition, I already have a 257Wby, which covers everthing and more the 240 does. If I ever decided to spring for a 240, primry reason would be for the cool factor.

Cool factor is always a good reason to build or buy a Rifle. Thats why I own a Winchester 300H&H and many Savage 99s.
